FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

About Interim Executives

An interim executive is a highly experienced leader who steps into a key role on a short-term basis to solve problems, drive results, or lead transitions. Companies engage interim leaders during leadership changes, bridging the time until new talent joins, during maternity/paternity leaves, restructuring efforts, operational transformations, or when time-sensitive projects require senior-level expertise

While consultants advise, interim executives execute. They take on full operational responsibility—managing teams, making decisions, and delivering measurable results as part of your organization.

Process & Engagement

We typically present candidates within a few business days. In most cases, the interim executive can be onboarded within 1 to 3 weeks.

We start by understanding your challenges, timeline, and expectations. We then recommend proven executives who match your requirements—many of whom have led similar initiatives. After interviews and selection, we remain involved to support onboarding and ensure a successful engagement.

Yes. You’ll have the opportunity to meet shortlisted candidates to evaluate their fit with your culture, leadership team, and project scope.

Assignments typically last from 3 to 12 months, depending on your needs. Extensions are common for ongoing projects or if the interim executive is helping to transition a permanent hire.

Cost & Contracts

Fees are typically structured as daily or monthly rates. Rates vary based on scope, duration, and the level of expertise required—but are usually significantly more cost-effective than hiring full-time executives with equivalent experience.

Yes. Most projects have a 2-month minimum term and a 2-week termination clause. We aim for flexibility to suit your business needs.

Use Cases

Interim executives are often engaged to:
– Fill leadership gaps during transitions or absences
– Manage plant launches, shutdowns, or relocations
– Lead turnaround initiatives or restructure operations
– Step in after sudden executive departures
– Enhance operational controlling and financial performance—including developing and implementing actual vs. standard cost models, improving cost accuracy, and building financial dashboards
– Act as a bridge between operations and finance, ensuring alignment between production realities and financial reporting
– Support ERP implementations (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) by providing practical operational input during planning and rollout

Legal & Classification

Your company enters into a service agreement directly with TH Bender. We, in turn, have a separate contractual agreement with the interim executive. This means there is no direct employment or contractual relationship between your company and the executive. This structure simplifies compliance, mitigates risk, and ensures a smooth administrative process while giving you full access to the interim leader’s expertise and leadership.

They are usually brought on as independent contractors through a legal entity such as an LLC or Corp. We help ensure compliance with labor and classification standards.

Yes. While not employees, they are expected to follow company guidelines, especially in areas like compliance, confidentiality, and ethics.
