Tilman has spent decades living and working in Chicago, Texas, and New York and is now based in the Washington, DC area – close to three airports. With professional experience spanning the U.S., Canada, South America, Asia, and Europe, he has led hundreds of senior-level search assignments since 1997. As a hands-on founder of the firm he oversees client engagements and drives strategy initiatives focused on delivering fast, practical solutions for urgent leadership needs.

Tilman began his career consulting manufacturing companies setting up export channels and international subsidiaries. After graduating he worked for a mid-sized manufacturer of electrical products, providing well-known consumer goods for major American brands such as Sears Craftsman and Milwaukee Tools. He transitioned into executive search starting as a research associate and worked for boutique and Fortune 500 search firms prior to founding THBender in 2006. With academic training in international business management, organizational development, and industrial psychology, he combines hands on experience with strategic talent expertise.
